How did you get your feminine voice?I have to admit that I came about my voice by chance and unknowingly trained for it most of my life. I've always been mesmerized by acting and voice-over acting. Mel Blanc, the original voice of Bugs Bunny and hundreds more, has always been one of my biggest heroes. I watched a ton of TV and did my best to imitate cool sounds or voices I heard. When I got older, I began a career in radio broadcasting. It wasn't long before I made my way to the production department of the radio station where I worked. I started doing all the character voices and impersonations I had in my repertoire. Throughout the years, the production managers would always come to me and ask if I could do this voice or accent. Next thing I knew, my list of character voices and impersonations grew to around ninety-three. When I started trying to find my feminine voice, I had to figure out how to get those higher tones and pitches without straining my voice. I believe many of us strained our vocal cords when first learning to use our feminine voices. If you listen to the first few episodes of this podcast, you'll hear that strained-out voice I was doing when I first started. I eventually was able to work my vocal cords into a comfortable tone and pitch, which is what I have today. I apologize for not having any recommendations for training programs or vocal specialists that can help you achieve a more feminine tone. Have a listen for yourself.
